Travel + Leisure, Headline News, and CNN.com announced that the polls are open for the America’s Favorite Cities 2008 survey, accessible on www.travelandleisure.com/afc/survey and via www.cnn.com/robin. From now until June 15, participants can rate 25 U.S. cities on everything from their restaurants and their museums to the attractiveness and friendliness of the people who live there.
How will this year’s survey results stack up against last year’s winners? According to the America’s Favorite Cities 2007 survey, here’s how several cities fared in select categories:
New York City: ranked first for ethnic food, theater, luxury boutiques & stylish people
Miami: named top city for attractive people
Charleston: won for friendliest people
Seattle: grabbed number one spot for intelligent people
Chicago: finished first for its skyline and views, as well as food and dining overall
Washington DC: won for historical sites and monuments
Portland: ranked number one for environmental awareness
New Orleans: voted best for live music and cocktail hour
