September 2008 marks the 100th anniversary of the birth of Richmond Bowens, the seventh generation descendant of enslaved people who lived and worked at Drayton Hall, and the National Trust's greatest resource on African-American history at Drayton Hall. Come and hear how his life has inspired the work of the site and others across the area to record and preserve family histories. This event is free with admission; reservations required. Lunch to follow for an additional fee. For information or to make a reservation, please contact Natalie Titcomb Baker at (843) 769-2638 or natalie_titcomb@draytonhall.org.
